Blosam tile backs consist of a blue core made of extruded polystyrene rigid foam. Rigid foam reinforced on both sides with glass fibers (alkali resistant finish) and coated with polymer modified cement. This core is 100% waterproof and maintains full functionality even after possible damage.
Due to their special properties, Blosam tile backboards are suitable for a wide range of applications.
Blosam tile backsheets are mainly used as load-bearing elements for laying tiles, slabs and natural stone floor coverings using the thin bed method. It can also be used as an adhesive surface for applying plaster, tile adhesive and other materials.
Blosam tile backsheets provide excellent moisture protection, effective thermal insulation and can be used in countless ways as a design element in any tile installation.
Blosam tile backs are approved for indoor use at ambient temperatures. For application methods for special applications (swimming pools, cold stores, exterior areas, etc.), please contact Blosam. Blosam tile backboards are approved for flooring in common residential load rooms. Wheeled loads with highly concentrated loads are not permitted.
Blosam tile backs are also available in two different versions - Blosam Construct construction panels have pre-cut longitudinal or transverse grooves in the panels, allowing you to create curved walls and other interior features.
Blosam Vapor building panels are specifically designed for use in areas with constant high humidity such as swimming pools, steam rooms, spas, wellness suites and more. It differs from standard Blosam tile backs by the use of a special cement-coated board on both sides and a moisture barrier on one side.
Blosam tile backboards can be installed on almost any surface, are waterproof, insulated, versatile, lightweight, dimensionally stable and fast to process.
