The DT223URH general purpose double throw safety switch is commonly used in emergency power or generator applications to reduce or eliminate the costly effects of typical power loss in the residential, agricultural and light commercial markets. All general purpose double throw safety switches are non-fusible and available up to 400A. A backup generator connected to the residential wiring system must be installed.

A double throw switch must be installed to isolate and disconnect the wiring from the normal utility line so that power generated by the generator is not fed back onto the normal utility line. Whether normal electrical service is interrupted by severe weather conditions, accidents or other issues, universal double throw safety switches are critical components in backup generator applications.
