Inspect the walls before starting to install any drywall.

Mark the location of the wall studs on the floor and ceiling so you can

Place a scrap on the floor and lift the drywall off the floor (about 1/2 inch).

Starting in the corner, place the drywall over the scrap and butt it in the corner. Make sure the other end of the sheet falls in the center of the wall stud.
