Little boss flexible expansion seal
Intumescent seals expand in fire to seal door frames and glazing applications to help prevent the passage of fire, smoke and toxic gases. Small Boss has a wide variety of intumescent seals to meet the needs of the OEM and aftermarket. Intumescent seals are mainly used in door assemblies manufactured by fire door manufacturers who integrate the small boss seal system into the door block before leaving the factory. Small Boss Intumescent is used in fire door assemblies in wood, steel or composite structures and will rapidly expand to many times (6-30 times) its original size when exposed to fire. It concentrates high voltage in a confined space, slowly peels off after activation to protect itself, and has good insulation properties. When properly positioned on the edge of a door leaf or door frame, the seal expands when activated to prevent the transfer of flame, hot smoke and fumes from one compartment to another. Unlike sodium silicate-based materials, Small Boss' unique intumescent material is impervious to water, making it ideal for applications in wet environments. This intumescent material is clean, non-toxic, and offers exceptional durability and reliability.
