Product Description
Tempered glass is a kind of safety glass, one of the most widely used glass, 10mm 12mm transparent tempered glass is glass door, glass balcony railing, glass office partition wall, glass cricket pitch, glass canopy, glass bathroom enclosure, etc. To produce tempered glass, it must be cut to the appropriate size and shape before the tempering process, if the glass is cut or processed afterwards, it will crack and shatter. After the glass has been cut, polished, drilled and other processes, the prepared float glass panel is put into a tempering furnace, the glass panel is heated to above 600 degrees, and then the surface is quickly cooled by cold air. This creates tensile stress on the glass surface and the glass particles inside are hotter. When the top thickness of the glass cools, it contracts and forces the corresponding glass elements to shrink, which introduces stress into the glass panel and increases its strength, so when the glass comes out, it is 3-5 times stronger than ordinary annealed float glass.

Glass Edge to Hole Edge: Minimum distance from hole edge to nearest glass edge must be ¼” or 2 x glass thickness, whichever is greater. Hole position tolerance for specified edge is ±1/16”.
Minimum distance between holes: The minimum distance between edges of adjacent holes must be 3/8” or 2 x glass thickness, whichever is greater. Dimensional tolerance between hole centers is ± 1/16”.
Glass corner to nearest hole edge:Holes near corners must be positioned such that the nearest edge of the hole is a minimum distance of 6.5 x glass thickness from the corner.Hole size:The minimum size of the hole should be at least 1/16 inch greater than the thickness of the glass. The maximum dimension of the hole should not exceed 1/3 of the narrowest dimension of the workpiece.Notches and cutouts:All of these must have a fillet with a radius equal to or greater than the thickness of the glass.

All fabrication (i.e. holes, notches, cuts) through the glass surface must be done prior to tempering or heat strengthening. Attempting to manufacture on tempered glass will cause it to shatter.
